This two-day course will utilise didactic teaching, demonstrations, experiential exercises and group work to help physiotherapists and other health care professionals integrate evidence-based psychological techniques and strategies into their routine clinical work. The course material will draw on theory and practice from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
This course will enable clinicians to:
Utilise techniques based on evidence-based psychological theory to enhance clinical practice
To be better equipped in physical health settings to address psychological barriers to patient coping and/or recovery in the context of physical health problems.
Determine the most appropriate psychological strategy based on the client presentation.
Explore the role of different Psychological strategies in a range of common clinical condition.
