This popular hybrid Men’s Health Physiotherapy course will focus on the Assessment and management of the Men's Health Physiotherapy patient.All the course theory will be sent to you approx. 4 weeks before the course date and you will be able to study this in your own time (Equivalent to 1 day of teaching ).
You will have one day of content pre course where you can cover all the theory in your own time and we will have a full day on the Saturday in clinic and on Sunday we will be in clinic from 9-1pm. Sunday afternoon you can spend wandering around beautiful Exeter.
The Gerard face to face course time in Exeter will focus on hands on techniques and interactive discussion. This course has previously been run and stongly evaluated in Birmingham, Dublin, Washington DC, Montreal.
We will focus on the assessment and management of the male pelvic health patient. It will focus on the detailed history taking of the complex conditions these men present with. Conditions that will be focused on will include Male Pelvic Pain, male athletic pelvic pain , hard flaccid syndrome, post prostatectomy urinary incontinence and post prostatectomy erectile dysfunction . We will also focus on young erectile dysfunction which is a growing area within male pelvic health physiotherapy. We will also look at frequent but overlooked complications of prostate cancer treatment such as climacturia, penile shortening, Peyronie's disease and over active bladder. We will also focus on addressing the challenges of setting up or building a men's health physiotherapy service.
Will this course cover male internal assessment and treatment techniques ?
For this course we will up skill you on external pelvic floor assessment and treatment which Gerard and explore how patients can also do this. We will
also cover the use of trans abdominal and transperineal US imaging in allowing you to see how external techniques influence the male pelvic floor.
How Many will be on the course?
The course will be limited to approx 14 -16 participants to allow lots of discussion , participant interaction and hands on supervision.
It is likely this course will fill quickly. Gerard is a big believer in maintaining teaching and learning quality and experience by keeping numbers on the low side.

Approx 4 weeks before the course :
1. You will receive the pre -Course Material ( Equivalent to a full day of teaching )
2. You will be added to the course online community page where you can post questions and get involved in pre course meet and greet with Gerard and others attending the course.
3. Pre course Whatsapp to connect up with up others to arrange the Edinburgh social activities.

Designed for Male & Female Physios and other clinicians who want to develop/update their interest in Men’s Health Physiotherapy, including those with a Women’s Health, Musculoskeletal or Sports background. It will equip you to start working with male pelvic patients and to develop a new role or service.
What will Gerard Cover on the Exeter Course ?
Course Tutor :
Gerard Greene is a graduate of Trinity College in Dublin and an experienced Men’s health physio and is based in the UK. He works in male pelvic pain, pelvic floor rehab post prostate surgery, hard flaccid syndrome & also pelvic floor dysfunction in sport. He has established one of the few new pelvic health physio clinics in the UK and has experience in developing the role and service of Men’s health Physiotherapy. His original pelvic health clinic is in Birmingham UK and his most recent Men's health clinic is based in London.
He has taught for many presdigious international organisations such as the American APTA Pelvic Health Academy, Japanese Physiotherapy Association, South African Physiotherapy Society and many others. He works in two busy male pelvic health physio clinics between Birmingham and London and has worked with organisations such as The Pelvic Pain Society and Prostate Cancer UK. Gerard has taught worldwide with his good friend Dr Jo Milios ( Australia ) and has a track record of encouraging physios and other clinicians especially males and those from a non pelvic health background to get involved in male pelvic health. He is exprienced in the use of Focused Shockwave in male pelvic health. He is super proud to be a #tutor who treats.
