Pelvic Organ Prolapse for Physiotherapists: Hybrid Course.

All the course theory will be sent to you approx. 3 weeks before the course date and you will be able to study this in your own time (Equivalent to day 1 of the course).

Day 2 will be with Lisa face to face in clinic where she will focus on hands on techniques and interactive discussion. This will be held in our Birmingham Pregnancy, Post-natal and female pelvic health clinic.

Gerard & Lisa have experience of running successful strongly evaluated hybrid pelvic health courses , initially run in November 2023 with amazing feedback from all those who attended.

Pelvic Organ Prolapse for Physiotherapists

Pelvic health physiotherapy is an area of rapid professional growth and development with more awareness of conditions such as urinary dysfunction, obstetric anal sphincter injury, bowel dysfunction, prolapse, perineal trauma and constipation.

Developing further expertise in pelvic health is challenging and can be a source of frustration to clinicians. Lisa Hastie is an experienced Pelvic Health Physio who has worked in the NHS as a specialist for 15 + years and has been involved in the education and training of other physios in the NHS, UK & internationally.

Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition that patients can find difficult to get high quality information on and treatment for and is a cause of much distress and physical limitations. Physiotherapists have a big role to play in this condition.

This live online course is ideal for the women’s health physio who wants to develop their clinical skills and scope of practice and further help the women of their communities.

This Course will further develop your ability to assess, treat and manage more complex female pelvic health presentations such as Pelvic Organ Prolapse and will focus on :

• Post Natal Bladder prolapse

• Bowel dysfunction with a focus on bowel prolapse in the new mum

• Uterine prolapse

• Vaginal Vault Prolapse

• Bladder prolapse

• Role of Pessaries in the patient with prolapse

• Surgical options for the patient with prolapse

• Prolapse and sport and exercise ( keeping these women active )

• Developing a pelvic organ prolapse caseload

• Myth busting in Pelvic Organ Prolapse
