Combined Male, Female and adolescent Athletic Pelvis & Pelvic Floor Course
This new two day clinical course is ideal for physiotherapists, Sports Med Physicians & clinicians with an interest in refreshing, updating or developing their skills in assessing and managing Pelvic, hip and lumbar spine dysfunction in the elite and recreational male & Female athlete to include adolescent athletes. It will cover the spectrum of presenting patients from weekend warriors, post natal mums to elite sport.

Identify Athletic pelvic, lumbar spine & hip presentations where pelvic floor dysfunction is implicated
Assessment and management of the female and male athletic Pelvis with athletic pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, Musculoskeletal dysfunction, urinary incontinence, frequency or urgency, sexual or colorectal dysfunction.
Post Natal Return to sport and exercise
Be confident in the assessment of pelvic floor anatomy to include internal and external techniques.
To develop skills in vaginal and rectal assessment and management techniques.
Recognise potential disorders of pelvic floor muscle over-activity and relate this to athletic pelvic dysfunction in males & females
Use advanced manual therapy techniques for the pelvic floor muscles and neural tissue, including the pudendal nerve to include pelvic floor trigger pointing (Manual & EZ Magic techniques)
Assess and rehab the lumbar spine and pelvis to treat pain and disability.
The use of diagnostic ultrasound imaging to assess and aid management of pelvic floor dysfunction.
How to develop an athletic pelvic floor caseload and network with key influencers to generate referrals.
Lisa Hastie has over 15 years of pelvic health experience and expertise in the NHS and also works in the Birmingham Pelvic health physiotherapy clinic. She is a graduate of the POGP Univ of Bradford course and is a recognised expert in female urogyane pelvic health, bowel dysfunction, post natal trauma, male pelvic health and paediatric bowel & bladder. She is one of the few pelvic health physios who works extensively in all 3 areas of pelvic health practice ( Female, male and paediatric ). Lisa has also a lot of experience in training and mentoring other physiotherapists new to pelvic health and also those requiring updates or returning to practice.
Mr Gerard Greene is a graduate of TCD and an experienced musculoskeletal & Men’s health physio and is based in the UK. He works in male pelvic pain, pelvic floor rehab post prostate surgery, hard flaccid syndrome & also pelvic floor dysfunction in sport. He has established one of the few new pelvic health physio clinics in the UK and has experience in developing the role and service of Men’s health Physiotherapy. He presented at WCPT 2017 in Cape Town on Men’s health and was invited to teach the 1st Men’s Health course in South Africa with Joanne Millios (South African Physiotherapy Society).He has delivered Male pelvic health courses/ conferences for the Japanese Physical Therapy Association and delivered one of the 1st practical Men's health physiotherapy courses in the Middle East. He has also taught men's health courses in UK, Sligo and USA. He has been invited by USA PTA to present a pre-con coures at their annual conference in 2020. He is a passionate advocate for more physiotherapists to get involved in Male pelvic health.
